Think hospital table - the ones that roll under the bed and the top is adjustable and hangs over the bed. Set your computer up on it then slide it to the end of the bed. Or, use the computer while sitting in bed. Either way the table can be moved in and out of position while occupying the same space as the bed.

    Good luck!

What about getting rid of the desk and putting in a shelf that holds your computer? It'll make you feel less cramped in there.

Perhaps something like this would work? It's at sauder dot com. Another possibility might be to take a bookcase and add a fold-down (or up) leaf that would hold the weight of the computer. Oh my! I just went to walmart dot com, and found a TON of bookcase desks! They range in price from around $90 to much higher, but they might give you another resource to think about. Good luck!

You could try using a folding food cart. Some people like them in the kitchen with a microwave on top, shelves on the bottom and wheels, to push around. You can arrange your room and desk space any way you want. I saw some at Home Depot, or Lowe's. Cost range is about 50.00--100.00.

H.S.N. com, has a few for sale. These are very sturdy and durable.

Some time ago when space was limited, I used an old white microwave table with wheels. It has a flat surface for your monitor and keyboard, hardrive can sit on the shelf below, and paper/book storage in the small cupboards on the bottom. Here is a photo of it now being repurposed. You might find one of these at a used furniture store or Habitat for Humanity ReStore at a reasonable price.
