I am afraid I don't understand your question? Slick to me means silk or rayon sheets which could never be crisp. Crisp on the other hand means cotton sheets that we used to get when line drying outside which we can never get from drying them in the dryer. So, could you clarify what you are asking for?

  • If they are cotton, iron them. As Suzann mentioned, fabric content does matter.

Like we used to get cool, crisp and slick. 100% cotton is too soft. I had some that were 60 cotton and 40 polyester that felt great, but the ones I found lately are too soft.

The crisp sheets I got from L.L. Bean were listed as Pima Percale 280 thread count. We've had them for several years and they are just as nice today as when I bought them. I hope they still have the same ones. If so, I know you will like them.

If your sheets are cotton or cotton/poly blend, spray starch when you iron them and I suggest not to dry your cotton sheets completely, that only drys the wrinkles in. Suggestion #2: take them to a professional laundry and let them do the work. NOTE: I purchased a set of 1000 thread ct Egyptian cotton sheets from Amazon and they are the kind that will come out crisp after laundering. The label said "Elegant" hotel sheets. Hope this helps.

Add 1 cup white vinegar to the rinse water in washer machine. That is considered fabric softener yet gives a crispness to cloth after drying. Good for towels too.
