HELP!!!! I have a rip in a canvas painting!!

I don't know how to repair, any idea will help

    I have used some canvas glued on the back of the rip and touched up the front of rip with a little gesso spread with the finger. or in your case touch it up with a fine brush of the painting's colors.

      I was going to suggest something similar, like using archival fabric tape on the back, and then fixing the front , as Thea suggested.

      If it is worth something though, I would bring it to an art restorer.

    I did as Darvel Silda suggested. Depends on how valuable the painting is. It cost me $800 but the nasty tear was repaired by a curator who did this work as a sideline. The pic was a keepsake from my uncle so had great sentimental value. Have never regretted the expense.

    Or contact a local museum if there is one nearby to where you live.

    They should be able to refer to on to where you might get quality repairs done.
