My client - Piper’s mom - sent me a photo of a “chalk wall” playroom mural that she wanted to use as inspiration for her own daughter's playroom. I am so in love with black walls right now…so this request made my day! Here's how I painted the faux chalk wall mural.
How lucky is Piper??  Who else wants to be Piper??  LOL!
My client did not want it to actually be a “chalk wall” but to just appear as one.  So she had her painters cover the wall in this luscious black latex paint prior to me adding the artwork.
Adding simply illustrated images to a wall is quite easy!  I used an app on my phone to create the words “Piper” and “playroom”.  The app is called Rhonna and I use it for almost all my social media messages.  Once I found the font I liked….I saved the image and emailed it to myself.  This allows me to open the image in my laptop…connect it to my projector….and project the image onto the wall….and TRACE with chalk!
The cow image was one that I found on the internet…and again I projected it onto the wall.
This was such a simple project!   Start to finish was 4.5 hours!  I cannot wait to see this room complete with its pink and orange polk-a-dot rug, pink kitchen, tee-pee and all the other amazing things that Piper’s momma has planned!  I was thrilled to be asked to create this playroom mural and I hope to be asked to do even more!

This is amazingggg! Although I might be a little too old for this, I'd still totally have this in my room
