My colleague had an old lamp, she was done with it and wanted to throw that but I had other plans for that lamp, and asked her if she can give me instead of throwing that away! I absolute loved that lamp, because it has that vintage look, which is quite costly when u buy that in market and I got that for free! Bonus!
The base was perfect with little scratch on it but that was manageable! the challenge was with the Shade! It was old and dirty. I decided to paint and give a new life to that lamp over the weekend project. Here it is...

The over all Lamp, you can see the shade was kindda dirty and plan!

the base was prefect! with solid brown colour and wonderful bohemian texture. In-fact the texture was something which attracted me when I saw this.

I decided to rip off the paper and cloth used in the shade and use the same wire frame as a base for my new shade!

Since most of my home goods are in white and rustic look and I wanted to maintain the theme and use the same look and feel with this lamp I painted the base of the lamp with Matt white paint. The white color instantly pop the texture and fresh coat of colour made the base look like a brand new colour made the base look like a brand new.

With the help of normal Kitchen scrubber, I scrubbed on the slightly dried paint and it instantly gave the edgy Finnish look to the base. the distress look how I wanted to!
For the shade, I wanted to use natural Jute, instated I used jute ribbon (I had left with my other project!) I loved the different shade of brown popped up and it looked nice and different. It was just 10 minutes jobs, it was so quick I could not believe, on the metal base just roll over the jute ribbon and ta-da brand new shade is ready! this was that simple!

It hardly took 30- 40 minutes and I just love how the overall look came out! icon

the white paint and jute shade made huge difference to the old lamp! it does not look old any more! I am happy icon

This is the final look of the shabby chic Lamp. This literally stands out on my table and I love to show off this!icon icon
P.S. while fixing the wire I broke the ring holder, which I fixed ( temporary) with duct tape. will fix that soon, but for now, I am enjoying the light from my lovely lamp.

see! it hardly noticeable icon
