My Top 20 Favorite Early Spring Bloomers

Spring has sprung, and I for one could not be happier. We had a cold spell for the last few weeks but the sun is out in full force today. Hopefully it will get some of my garden plants going.

There are lots of plants that bloom well in the summer but not as many that burst into color in the early spring.

I've put together a blog post that talks about my favorite 20 early spring blooming plants. It's a great way to enjoy morning coffee, especially if your garden is not growing yet!
The crocuses love to poke their noses up early. They don't even mind the snow!
Forsythias are my first shrub that comes into bloom, but azaleas are not too far behind.
The perfume fragrance from hyacinths is just amazing. I love to cut some and put them in a short base for color in the house.
Don't forget the trees. Pink red bud is ablaze here in Raleigh and it's magnificent. For my photos showing 16 more early spring bloomers be sure to visit my blog.
