Welcome To doing it with jason and i hope you enjoy some of my fun furniture making. In this video, I show you How I built a Custom Coffee river table for a customer of mine. When it comes to woodworking, Sam the Beaver rocks it and with this being his First ever appearance on the tube, he was very well behaved!
We hope you guys enjoy this one!
Firsts choose your favorite wood, i choose pine. You can visit a lumber yard and check to see if they have some nice wide boards, or you can check out my other videos that show you how to join wood together to make it wider.
Cut the wood out to approximately 20" x 48"
Next, using a router with a straight cutting bit, cut a groove into the wood around 1/4" deep. Please go pretty slowly and carefully when using this tool. It is a very fast spinning tool and safety is very important.
Find a Beaver...This part is optional..lol
Next fill the recently routed (river) with fiberglass resign
Now sand everything flush with 80 grit sandpaper and then 120 grit sand paper and then apply your favorite finish
Now, either find someone to weld up a frame to wrap your table top or grab a mig welder and start blasting!
Now you are ready to fasten the wood to the metal from the under side. You can also screw it directly from the top side with exposed screws of your choice.
Thanks for watching and please let me know if you have any questions!
Suggested materials:
