Does anyone know how to remove black grease from a nice pink blouse?

I have tried everything that I know of from GoJo to alcohol.

The only stain remover that I've found that works is Resolve Gold. It's a laundry pre-treat stick. I smear both sides of fabric, leave it overnight and then wash either in machine or by hand. Has never let me down. It's hard to find here SWFlorida. I've had to order it from Amazon or call the company at 800-260-1066.

First use some WD-40 and work it into the spot until it starts to break down. Then use some cream-type hand cleaner (available at an auto-parts store) and rub that into the remaining spot. Then, if needed, use a few squirts of Dawn dish liquid and warm water to remove anything that is left before tossing in the clothes washer.

Use Crisco! Rub vigorously..may need to do this twice. Rinse in warm water & liquid dish detergent. Then wash as normal. It worked for me...

Might try using the old reliable 'blue Dawn' dishwashing soap. First wet the spot (I use a little spray water bottle to direct it on the spot) , then put a drop or two of Dawn on the spot. Put an old clean wash cloth over the dirty spot to 'catch' the oil as you work from the back side of the fabric. I use an old soft toothbrush that I first wet and put a drop of Dawn on, and tap...tap...tap the Dawn into the spot trying to push it through the fabric.. Let it set awhile, then using your spray water bottle, spray it through the area. Blot with clean cloth. If it didn't come clean, repeat process.

Kiss Off stain stick. Hobby Lobby has it in their art department. Wet the stain with cold water, then rub the stain stick all over the spot. Best to let the item sit for awhile, then wash as normal. I've even done this with a garment that has been washed and dried. The stain came out. We ordered a box of Kiss Off from the company. It's one thing I never want to be without.

Lestoil! Just put some on the grease and throw in the wash I had a ballpoint pen go through the dryer and all over a shirt, pen marks. Put Lestoil on all the pen spots, washed again, gone! It really does work. Good luck!

  • Thank you, I have not heard of Lestoil could you tell me where I can find it.

I have found that any dishwashing liquid works well on grease and protein stains. Just coat the stain with the DW liquid. Let stand overnight and wash as you normally would. This is great for blood and tar stains. Good luck.

Try Pine-sol. My late husband worked in concrete and pouring foundations. They used a black goopy thing called creosote on the wood forms to keep the concrete from sticking. I used Pine-sol to get his work pants clean. Good luck!
