TV Tray Gone Wild With Unicorn SPiT

I recently got a set of wood TV trays from a coworker. They were free, so I couldn't pass them up. I decided to do something a little different and knew I wanted to work with the grain of the wood and use Unicorn SPiT as the stain. Michelle Nicole's Mariposa technique came to mind, so that's what I did.
First, I sanded down the top to reveal that gorgeous grain. Then using a small art brush, I began staining the lighter wood areas with Unicorn SPiT in White Ning.
Then using Unicorn SPiT Sparkling Stain in Crow, I stained in the darker areas.
I worked in sections using the small art brush until it was all filled in.
The I used the Sparkling Crow stain to paint around the border.
Once the top was done I moved on to the legs. I painted them first with a black chalk paint. Then I layered on Modern Masters Metallic in Black Pearl and topped that off with a layer of the Sparkling Crow. I did the bottom of the legs in Modern Masters Metallic in Silver Opaque. The entire piece was then spray sealed with Minwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane Clear Gloss.
And there you have it. A little walk on the wild side. Please visit me on facebook and pinterest. Thanks for reading!
Here is she is before.
I got a request to add a single before picture, but I couldn't move the picture to the top of my post icon
