Funky Old Copper Door & Mirror

Part of our Camper Madness Redo -- revamping the bathroom.
Decided to add some character to a tiny space.
Always wanted to try an antique copper door.
So here's our chance to try it and MORE:

Started with this tired old room. Stripped most of the wallpaper off until the wood started peeling underneath. Bob Villa, home improvement guy, says it's ok to use oil Kilz primer over wallpaper if you're having problems with removal.
Thanks Bob.

Also used a light wash of Gray Chalk Paint diluted with wax sealer over the wood panelling to soften the orange tones. Sealed with 2 coats of dead flat wax varnish.

Stripped wallpaper off the inside of doors and primed with Kilz oil base. Did a light coat of Gray Chalk Paint, like the outside of the door. ho hum
Then got brave -- w. t. h. -- decided to try the copper metal look. Sprayed hammered finish and bright finish -- just because I had them both and didn't know which to use.
Then, I mixed a custom blue-green ... in a jar until I liked the color... beige base + blue + green...
... poured that into the roller pan with an equal amount of glaze to the side in the pan, too.

I trowel my color on in random strokes... work fast over the whole canvas.
Do not think too much!

Added my favorite matte gray into the pan too -- do NOT mix well, go random!

Working up the mirror cabinet as well. Work like an artist over the whole piece -- quickly from sides into the center...

Brush in mottled random strokes -- dab & pull...

Similar effects on wall. Color trowelled on randomly white + dove gray + lots of glaze.

Stipply smashes with brush... work fast & loose

mix of effects

fun!
