In order to know which hanger anyone is talking about, please number them from the top as 1,2,3,4,5. I would appreciate any ideas as I have many and don't want to throw them out.

The last type, 5, is the most useful - many times you can donate them. You can check local nursing homes, etc
I broke the top (hook) part off of hanger # 5 white one, the larger part dropped next to my tall boots and I realized that I could put one in each boot to keep it standing straight up, keeping it from folding over, which can make a permanent crease in your boots, worked great. if the broke off part is sharp, wrap with duck tape to keep from scratching inside of boots
#5 can be turned into a mini Christmas tree. Place 3 of them to form a tripod with hooks inside. Tape hooks to hold together. Wrap light set around and tape/glue to hold in place. Wrap strand of tinsel around. You can add a few small decorations and a topper.
If any of #5 are heavy duty style you can use to store material, towels, sheets in closet. Many thrift use the wood ones to hang sheets and towels.
I threw my plastic hangers away and replaced them with the 'velvet' covered hangers that you can buy at Costco for $9.99 for 35 hangers. It made such a difference in my closet and gave a bit more room. I have several wood hangers that I use for heavy items such as winter coats.
#5 can be used to store table cloths, if you are sewer you can store longer lengths of fabric on them, All the others with the notches for shoulder straps, they can be used to store ties and keep them separated or silky scarves. You can put plastic grocery bags on them to use as a temporary holder when working on projects (that way you don't get paint on your good garbage can or cupboard doors! Not speaking from experience at all! lol You can use 1,2,3 for floral swags turning the hook backward they often will fit over interior doors or leave them sideways and bent them a bit more, add a pretty bow overtop.
Add shower curtain rings to a triangular one and put scarves through the rings.
#1 and #3 can be used with hanging plants. I have a 6ft Sheppard hook plant holder that goes into the ground. It only has one hook. So, you use pliers to close the book at the top of the hanger. Place loop on sheppards hook. Then in the two holders attach the hook from the hanging plants. Make sure they are pretty close to the same size and weight.
I had all of those. I donated over time as I replaced with the Joy Mangano huggable hangers from HSN, also Bed Bath & Beyond and Target. They do work like magic, my closets are SO much nicer now.
Keep for craft projects or donate.
We have donated some to charity or put into the plastic recycle container when broken. We also took a bunch to our daughter's guest bedroom so we can hang up our clothes when we go visit.
