    Janet,

Check any company in your town that handles ceramic tile & supplies, concrete supplies, dry wall, large quantities of paper products (copy services) and your local trucking companies. Here, there are signs at all locations to get rid of them. Most of our homeowners associations or (business associations) will not let you stack up pallets by the dumpster. Each business must make arrangements to take them to the recycle center to pay a fine. Hope it helps - Linda

  • In my area they charge for them because they can. I do run into them occasionally for free from smaller mom and pop shops. As previously suggested, check any local forums or neighborhood networks as to where to score a deal. Good luck! And be careful disassembling and check to make sure they are raw wood and be mindful of what project you will be using for as some have been chemically treated. No good for indoor or planter type projects.

I have a lot of mini malls around. I just drive around the back of the malls. They just lean or pile the pallets by the dumpsters. Free for the taking. As everyone says, check Craigslist (free stuff), local paper, local businesses.

Not relevant to your question, but I lived in Bradenton many moons ago :) I bet that a lot of the restaurants on the Island have pallets from deliveries in the morning! The bigger ones..

I see them sometimes posted on Freecycle, which I love. Also, Kajiji has a free section where you can see them. Cleanup days show more than a few at the curb.

I see them in industrial parks by the road. There is also a place where a person must run a business and has piles of old wood fencing and sometimes pallets free for the taking. The pallets go first. Lol
