I live in FL and find it impossible to grow cilantro. Any tips?

If you're growing cilantro in Florida it's best to do so in the fall or winter since it will tend to quickly flower and go to seed once the days get warm and long.

it's growing in a 12 inch pot in my basement. the basement average temp is about 50-60 degrees. when it goes out side for the summer it will bolt and re seed itself.

I have an old footed bathtub in my overgrown backyard. It is 80% shaded and all of my herbs grow there. Cilantro has a shorter season but reseeds quite well.

cllantro is a cold weather crop. In Fl. It grows in Nov. through April Or May . Split the seeds in two by little crushing and both the parts grow. Takes about 15 days for germination. Grows fully in a month and then flowers and goes to seeding. It reseeds itself well if left alone. In North I always had cilantro even in the snow . When it dies out, come back well by early spring, when weather startsk warming up. Hope this is helpful as cilantro is very necessary in Indian cooking, and has tremendous health benefits.
