It is crazy, when you cut down the tree all the roots start sprouting baby trees. I have tried painting the stump with root killer but it obviously didn't work. Help?

Drill holes in the stump and apply stomp out or rock salt.

I'm with the tea lovers, but if you want to get rid of the new sprouts you can spray the newly emerging leaves with something like round up . You don't need much but you'll probably have to do it a few times as they keep emerging. Or cut the newbies down and paid all the cut surfaces with your root killer. Both products are toxic so wear gloves and keep pets away for a day or 2

I have the same problem. My neighbor cut the tree on their side of the property line then put up a vinyl privacy fence. All of the roots on my side of the fence sent up sprouts. I don't have access to the stump so I have to deal with all of the sprouts on a one by one basis. It is taking years.
