How to Use Cracked and Broken Dishes. A Rooster Was Formed.
I was given a stack of dishes that were chipped or cracked to use in my stepping stones. When I finished breaking the plates with a hammer and saw just how many shards I had my brain went another direction. This is how I used them.
I found a piece of wood that I could use in the scrap wood pile. Then I drew out a rooster on the wood. Gluing the pieces on with E6000 putting it together like a puzzle.
After getting all my glass glued onto the wood I grabbed some acrylic paint and added a sky. Now letting the glue set up for 24 hours it was time to grout.
We finally had a sunny day so I grabbed all my grouting supplies and headed outside. I have a perfect view of nature happening all around me.
I picked a sanded colored grout that was in the garage. So far this project hasn't cost me a dime. Those are the best prices and the fun is price-less. Now I need to let the grout set up and clean up the sky and it will be ready to hang. I will post final destination when all my touch up's are done.
Grouting and sealed is done. A beaded hanger is made to hang. Now it's ready to hang.
I strung beads on a wire from a old necklace for a hanger. This worked perfect as it is very heavy.
