I was using a boring old white cup to hold my makeup brushes... After being around the office (Hometalk) so much I have found a new obsession with marbleizing. So, I decided to try it out at home! So quick and so easy.
I used some purple nail polish I had in my room because purple is my favorite color :)
I put warm water in a bowl that I could throw away because I didn't want to ruin a nice bowl!! Pour enough nail polish just to make a thin a layer on top of the water.
Dip and roll the bottom of the cup around in the combination water!
Let dry for about 20 minutes.
There you have it! SO simple and SO pretty! :) I love my new makeup brush holder!

This is on the same basis that I did in high school in 1970-71 [oh wow I'm dating myself!]...I used diluted oil paints on water using multiple colors 'swirled' on top of the water & laid down contrasting colored/white/black paper to 'pick up the colors from the water's surface.' Then I hung the paper up to dry, once dried...I combined the papers together to form a small book that I used as an autograph book for my friends & teachers to sign, [I couldn't afford a year book that year] & I still have it! Beautiful swirls of oranges, yellows, blues & greens! I was an Art teacher's teaching assistant the following year & he let me teach a few classes on 'how to do it,'...he left the room & we had FUN for a full hour! [NOTE: dilute oil paints with paint thinner-aides in making 'the oil paint float on the water']
