Ok, before we go any farther, these ARE NOT candles. Do not try to light them on fire or ask me where the wick is. :) These adorable eggs are going to replace your candles!

I wanted to add some more fun to my mantel and was getting sick of seeing the same old candles up there through just about every holiday so I knew I wanted to change them. Since I don't really burn many candles in our house I wanted to use the candlesticks to display "something" instead of a candle.

So I made up these easter egg candle replacements and you can find the full DIY and more here are CrazyDiyMom.com
My candlestick that was begging for a little more excitement this Easter!
The best part about this craft? I got everything at the dollar store!
You need plastic easter eggs and some little bowls that will fit on top of your candlestick. These fit perfectly! At the dollar store they can be found with all the bowls, plates and glassware in a 4 pack.
Not pictured: You will also need your trusty hot glue gun.
Start by gluing your eggs together. Make sure that you keep the flat end of your bottom egg down so that it can easily glue into your bowl. Glue together as many eggs as you want. I had two candlesticks so I used 6 eggs - 3 eggs for each "candle". Make sure as you are gluing you rotate the eggs around to make sure they are centered good from all sides.
Once you have all your eggs glued together and they have dried good, apply some hot glue to the bottom of your group of eggs and glue it into the bottom of your little glass bowl. Hold it steady and make sure it is straight up as it dries.

Once your eggs are dried good inside your bowl, add in some easter grass. I added a bit of glue to the side of the bottom egg and added in the grass to help keep it in place a little bit better.
Then add your egg "candle" to your candlestick and wait for the Easter bunny to arrive!
