At the coast of cement gravel let alone the work repair......paint will work wonders make the long crack look like a garden hose. Other blemishes and cracks can be flower stems or stings for ballots or fishing poles and lines fish how about lily pads paint blue then paint lily pads some fish and a frog or two.

You never know if you will have another chance to paint like a kid and make yourself smile........

  • I have the same issue and I am planning to use a textured concrete paint. I found complete kits at Lowe's and Home Depot. I also bought an indoor/outdoor rug for the area that looks the worst once I do paint it.

Using a concrete stain is another good option.

You can give it the appearance of marble or granite with three colors or two whatever your preference using a swirl technique with a string mop. Any cracks or imperfections in the slab will be hidden. Check with your local retailer to find out the type of stain and sealer that you will need to do the project.

You need to determine why the slab is cracking. Water? Slab too thin? Erosion of base? Not seeing any expansions which is a concern as the slab looks pretty big. Without addressing cause of crack, you may well be wasting time and money as the crack is likely to return regardless of the type of patch you use.

I have a question. If the concrete has an old stain on it can you paint over it or do you have to treat the stained concrete with an etching chemical first?

I'd really appreciate your input on this, thank you in advance.
