We took our dated hallway and transformed it to a Travel Gallery Themed Space. Come on in and tell me your thoughts!

We still have quite a few things to do but it's definitely much better than the before! This project was completed over the course of a few months but could definitely be completed in just a few days.

On move-in day! Don't you just love all that cream trim and wallpaper? Ha!

After wallpaper removal and door painting.

Definitely steps in the right direction but the space was just boring still.

After painting the walls gray and planning the gallery wall.

*Tip: Cut newspaper to the size of your frames and tape them on the wall with painter's tape to determine your wall arrangement.

After trying a few arrangements and purging the wall, this is where we ended up.

*Ignore the missing baseboards. =) We had flooring installed last year and still haven't gotten around to installing them.

There are lots of different items on the wall but are all travel-themed and most of them are pictures (from our trips) or souvenirs (like a tea towel or special rock).

A few pieces are art pieces made of a specific city that I purchased on Etsy. We have one huge piece that is a die-cut map of San Fran and another that is a painting of New York City.

If you love free art prints, I have many different one's that you can download for free. Head to my blog and scroll down to Free Printables to see all of them.

One of my favorite pieces, is this framed DIY coin art. Click to see the full tutorial!

For frames, I used a bunch of different one's. If you are looking to buy new, Ikea is a great place to buy them. I like to mix Ikea frames with garage sale or thrift store finds to save on money. Use the same white spray paint for your used frames and they will look like they go together. Also, I love mixing frames that have mats and frames without mats. I feel like it give the gallery wall more dimension.

The space feels airy and bright now but I'm always looking to improve it. For starters, I know baseboards would definitely help the space feel more finished.

I think a runner would give it more character as well.

Love the look of the hallway. Great work for my home hallway. Have your thought about putting bead board on the ceiling to match the attic entrance, if that is what that is? Thanks for the idea
