Will it last if I spray paint a chrome faucet oil rubbed bronze?

  • To achieve the oil rubbed bronze color I would apply a coat of copper & let that dry completely. Next a dark golden brown coat. Then before it's completely dry rub off a bit of the brown at some edges.

I painted my exterior brass doorknob with Rustoleum's Oil Rubbed Bronze. It's been about 6 months. So far, looks great.

I did my bathroom faucets with Oil Rubbed Bronze paint - not spray. It took two coats but has worn great.

There is a product called Rub n Buff which is used for antiquing metallic finishes, should be available in art shops etc (you don't need much as it goes a long way)
