Can you just purchase another boxwood and plant it? If not, I'd find a pretty painted pot and plant flowers, etc. that will get a bit tall.

  • what about making a decorative privacy screen? They sell ones for around the AC unit (easy set up) or you could make one with an old shutter with a planter box attached.

I had the same problem. I used a piece of privacy fence, painted the same color as the house. I then built a small platform "deck" and attached the fence to the backside. Placed the entire thing in front of the meters, then added a large urn with a gardenia topiary tree. No more ugly, and it can be easily accessed if needed.

post and lattice was what i removed from the front of my meters- the stuff was rotting off the post. it's in the back of the house- i just left the meters bare.

It depends on your community, the utility company has to be able to access them easily, so whatever you decide to use should be able to be easily moved.

A trellis with climbing plants might work. You can set it out enough tomallow access to the box.

Make a large bird house to slide over your meter that goes to the ground. You can paint it to match your house or leave it natural. If you paint it you can put a door, windows, shutter and pain on window boxes. If there is a meter that needs to be read just cut out that area so the meter can be seen. If you leave it natural, you can cut holes and make it look like a real bird house. :)
