Carport curb appeal help needed.

Hello, i am fixing some carport issues, which will require (in the end) a paint job. I need help deciding on whether to go lighter or darker (than main house) on carport walls. Which would be more appealing? I am sending images of home before my improvements and after improvements. And of the carport area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I would go lighter, lots of possibilities....where the open space window create a ledge for plantings which would add a pop of color, paint the concreted pad a darker color or paint a faux brick pattern for interest on the concrete pad, perhaps inside walls a whitewash great space for the car ....
Im not sure white wash would flow with the rest of home. But i do love the look of the "washes" and YES YES YES love the idea of planter on the brick ledge! Thank you
I agree with a light(er) color under the carport, since it's already pretty shady under there. (I realize that's the point :-)). Not sure I would use white, but maybe an even lighter shade of the house color. Also like the idea of a brick pattern stenciled onto the concrete, or maybe paint that too. I would go with a darker color for that though. And I also agree with plants all around the carport "window" -- definitely on the ledge, but maybe hanging from the top of the window too ? if you can screw into the brick. Please send pics when you complete the project ! Would love to see what you decide to do !
If you want to make the carport the focal point, do as everyone says, or leave it and the front of the house will be the focal point. Everyone paints their garage door the same color as their front door and now you have competing focal points. A garage door is not a beautiful thing.
I suggest painting the two doors to match the brick so it doesn't stand out. Then paint the ceiling a soft aqua/blue tone. Add cedar flower boxes along opening filled with petunias or other colorful assorted flowers. I would make sure the front of the house is the accent not the garage.
My Cape Cod home was built in 1955 with a carport which is now obsolete. The newer/larger cars won't fit into it so I made the area into a porch and have spent many hours rocking in my chair(s) during warm weather. I see you still park cars in your carport, but you might want to consider making an area for seating.
