What can you do with the promotional fabric totes we seem to collect?

You know the ones. They give them away at festivals, grocery stores, schools, everywhere! Is there any use for them? We have collected quite a pile.
This one has six pockets and was intended as a wine carrier. Ideas?

It's great for knitting projects. Also it's wonderful to transport things like scissors, glue, etc. for craft projects.

I use them for garden container bags. Tomatoes grow great in them as well as potatoes. Just be aware of your watering becomes more often.

I use them for my tax info. it makes identifying taxes from year to year very easy and is large enough to hold all receipts and docs.

Just say no. Don't collect them. Although they are reusable i am sure many of them are just thrown away.

I've used the wine bags with the six divided sections as shoe bags when I travel. womens shoes will fit nicely, mens probably not unless they're a small size

  • I just use them. Where we live you have to bring your own bags or pay 10 cents extra per bag. I have a pile of them in each car. And use certain ones for meat, poultry, fresh produce, etc. Run thru the washer after every trip. I have some that are for camping or road trip travel, the dogs have their own bags, (brushes, meds, leashes, travel bowls, food, stakes and leads, treats, toys, blankets towels), and one with emergency road supplies, jacket, water, plastic tarp in case a tire needs to be changed, first aid kit, etc.

I hear ya man! I used to have so many of these that even my grandgirls wouldn't take any more. All of the ideas already posted are excellent. I still use some as shopping bags, I've planted in them, donated and finally stopped taking them. I'm retired now, so the "curse of the freebie bag" no longer haunts me.
