Wall Sconce Garden Tool Holder

3 Materials

For some reason, I constantly lose gardening hand tools in our garage. So I decided to put some outdated wall sconces to good use as a holder/organizer for them!

Ahhh...1970's bucket sconces. Definitely outdated and definitely not my style...BUT, something that I can easily upcycle and repurpose with a little paint and some ingenuity, right?
To create a gardening tool organizer/holder, I decided to pair my sconces with a beat up old cutting board- everything from the thrift store!
First, I sanded down the knife scars from the board (it was pretty bad!) until it was a nice, smooth surface. Then, I prepped it for painting. Click HERE to find out what I did that made a HUGE difference!
And my bucket sconces? They needed a bright, fresh makeover, too. And in the spirit of gardening, a Spring-y green was in order.
When the paint had dried and I had distressed them a little for contrast and, well, because I love the look, there was just one step left- connect everything together!
There you have it!! An organizer for my gardening hand tools...I can hang it in the garage, or lean it up against the wall. Either way, cheers to never losing my trowel again!
