  • I don't know where you are from but in the US we have something called an ADA height (Americans with Disabilities Act). It is what was recommended to me for my disabled mother.. I will say that I like it as well. I believe it should be like the height of a comfortable chair, 16" 17" from the floor to the seat.

Several years ago, I needed to replace a toilet in one of the bathrooms. Didn't need it at the time, but we used the taller toilet (ADA). The salesman suggested it at the time and called it "chair height". Since then, I have developed mobility issues and this toilet has become a a necessity. It makes standing much easier and has really enhanced my ability to continue caring for myself. I am so thankful that I had the foresight to make this change when I did.

  • Some manufactures call them "comfort height", I am installing in one of my bathrooms. The other is standard height for kids and my 4'11" girlfriend.

Worked for a nursing home as a maintenance tech for 10+ years. We used 16" tall toilets rather than extensions. They aren't that stable. At times we did have to special order 18" high toilets.

18", unless you are really short. I'm 5' and can comfortably rest my feet on the floor. My husband is 6' and has a seat the is 15"....way too low for him and me, so when I remodeled my new bathroom, I chose the higher model.

If you want to measure, measure from the floor to the top of your knee. We bought 18 inches because it is kind of standard. And we are both short, 5ft 2=-inches. I don"t know what tall people do. I really wish one could get couches to fit too.

According to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the recommended height is 17" that provides the maximum comfort. But the fact is a few models of toilets fulfill this requirement. Wen I was about to remodel our existing bathroom, I had to find the recommended height toilet online. Then I found Toiletsguide, a site that works on bathroom fixtures. They have sorted 2020's top premium models of ADA certified toilets. I purchased one of them and no doubt, it was a great value for money. Thanks to Toiletsguide!
