I would like to see the back of your flowers and how I would put them in my garden

Hi Marmiewood! Check out the photo below on Donna Hagen's inquiry. It shows the flattened spoon glued and screwed on the back of the plate flower. Then the stem is slipped down into the pole, either copper or conduit painted green that has been hammered into the ground. Let me know if that doesn't help.

What adhesive do you use ? And how do you stand them up , they're beautiful!!

Sorry I just saw this, Terri! I use 3 types of adhesive, GE Silicone II for glass pieces that are not clear, E6000 on the clear pieces and Plumbers Goop to glue the spoon or fork on back. A green painted conduit pipe is hammered into the ground so it stands about 2 feet above your garden and the spoon or fork handle is slipped into the pole to hang....very simple and secure.
, Terri if you can see Donna s inquiry below it shows another view of the spoon slipped into the pole Let me know if you have any other questions Cheers

Kathy, how do you connect your plates together?

    • Kathy Bass
      on May 14, 2019

Hi Sandy, I drill holes in the plates and silver plated spoons and then I glue each piece together. Then I put a stainless steel screw from the front plate thru the flattened spoon (also glued) and finish off with a stainless steel nut. That way they are double strong. The flattened spoon is bent (before gluing) so it will slip into a conduit or copper pipe. I finish it off with a ceramic or metal knob (which needs to be sprayed with clear Rustoleum so it doesn't rust) which is glued in. For plates that are colored and not clear, I use GE Silicone II for doors & windows. It doesn't dry completely clear, so for the clear plates, I use E6000 clear glue. I use Plumbers GOOP to glue the spoon. I Hope this helps!
