Planting Ranunculus Bulbs

I don't have much of a green thumb, but I'll give anything a try once! This spring we decided to plant ranunculus flowers -- will they bloom? Only time will tell! Here's how we did it...
First thing is first, we picked out some cool planter boxes. We found these ones at home depot - they have a chalk board on the front, which turns out it looks like a good idea..then it rains...haha
Grab a handful of ranunculus bulbs to get started. They look like spiders with big dangling legs...kinda creepy!
Fill your planter box with soil, leaving a couple of inches to spare on the top -- or in our case, just below the handles. Use a good soil made for planting flowers to get the best results (look at me talkin' like a pro...or something!) ;)
Now correct me if I'm wrong here.. But I was told by the people in the flower department at Home Depot that the bulbs go spider legs DOWN. So in they go, spider legs down! I placed 5 in each 1'x1' planter box.
Cover them up with a couple of inches of soil. No need to pack them down or anything, just cover 'em up and they're good to go. Do water them after you plant the bulbs, and keep the soil moist.
Now we wait.......and maybe patch up our lawn a little bit. Check out my blog post below to see how I'm fixing up a few rough spots in our lawn, where the moles had their way...
