Tip: Add Fabric to Your Faux Wood Blind Valance

I have a small window in my kitchen and wanted to add some color and interest to it. I thought about adding a fabric valance over the window but everything I found was too long for the small window. Then one day I was looking at the 3" faux wood valance that came with the blind and inspiration struck. I decided to use some fabric from an old curtain I had to cover it. I cut the fabric about an inch larger than the faux wood valance, folded it over the valance and hot glued it on the back. Such an easy project and the possibilities for fabrics are endless.

Did you use Mod Podge to seal it to make it easier to wipe off dust?

It may give it a shiny look, I would experiment with a scrap of the fabric if you have any left and be sure you will be happy with the look. If not regular vacuuming with the brush attachment will help.
