A few extra minutes, scrap wood,a little paint, and a Cricut machine can make a fun sign supporting a favorite local pastime.
I was asked to teach a class at a local brewery. Once we decided on a theme, I came up with a fun design and printed it out on vinyl using my Cricut machine. Then I removed all the letters and parts I didn't need (called weeding).
Then I used transfer tape to make sure all the parts stayed in place. The faint lines were very handy since the design didn't cut as straight as I would have preferred.
then I placed the vinyl on the wood (that I had stained with a custom mix of Shabby Paints reVAX). I made sure to rub/press down really well on the edges of the design so the paint wouldn't bleed (this is called burnishing).
I used Shabby Paints White Ice and a dry brush stencil technique in several layers to fill in the design.
Then I peeled off the vinyl and screwed on the bottle opener. Cute AND functional!
