Can anyone identify this succulent?

This cactus plant has never bloomed before, but it appears to be the beginning of a bloom. But we have no idea what variety it is or what the bloom will look like. Any help will be appreciated!

    I believe it is an agave victoriae-reginae. The pictures I've seen don't show an actual flower but more like a stalk that looks like giant asparagus.

      No, this is a night blooming epiphyllum, as I grew these at one time. The blooms can be dinner plate size.


      After Chris gave me the name I found this picture.

    we had one when in Denton Texas area,put in ground and it grew about 10 ft with little yellow flowers on all sides of sphere was pretty in the middle of our cactus & rok garden. Never found out the name of it but doesn't spread width way just tall real tall.We left texas about 8 years ago so,can't tell what it is doing now a days Dona in central Iowa.
