What is compost tea?

i have a saltwater pool. when ready to use pool, we have collected tons of maple leaves and several inches of rain water. is that water i'm draining considered compost tea? should i put the drain hose directly into my garden?

Not if there is salt in the water. Compost tea comes from soaking compost in water and then pouring the liquid off.
Make sure the water is not from your pool. Put broken down compost in water and let it sit for a few days. Then use the liquid!
