What can I do with my Easter hyacinth?

Looking for advice on how to grow hyacinths from Easter, the blossoms are gone but the leaves still look great, can I plant them?

Dig a hole twice the size of the original pot and plant it leaving the greenery on as the bulbs feed from the foliage.
Plant bulb outside in the fall.
plant now in semi'shade, water well for first month, but not soak.
Put it in the ground now where you can see it in the spring and hopefully where you will get a whiff of its wonderful perfume.
