Maybe a small bench that has a shelf underneath. Then it will hold shoes but also would serve as somewhere to sit to put shoes on.
I saw a cool idea of using coat hooks on a board hung just above the floor to hang your shoes.
it took less space because shoes are now vertical and organized.

If its your home, I've seen people cut away the drywall to make storage areas between the studs. Studs in homes are usually 16" on center, get a stud finder and start in the corner to measure over.
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately our house is a modular ... Trailer... So nothing is standard like a real house. There's only about 2 1/2 inches between the walls and the studs are 24 instead of 16. Makes it a challenge to do a lot of things...lol.
