What is the best way to use pine needles raked up on my property?

I have a small lot, about 5,000 square feet, with a half-dozen old-growth pines surrounding the house. They are beautiful, majestic, tall. I love them, and I love the feel of the needles all over the property when they drop out of the trees and carpet the landscape. Leaving them more or less where they fall has been my preferred choice, but I am wondering if there is something I can do with them, besides bagging and putting by the curb.

They make great mulch for flower and vegetable gardens as well as nice fire starters if you have a fire place or fire pit.
use them as mulch around flower beds.
Be careful using the pine needles on certain flowers,shrubs etc,not all plants will tolerate the acidity from pine.
Use them as mulch in your own flower beds. Offer to trade for flowers, fruits , vegetables at the local co-op.
Going along with the mulch ideas, they can be chopped up & use as mulch in any potted plants as well!
great mulch. They have an natural ingredient that kills weeds too. They do add acid to soil
