OOK Hangman French Cleat will hold 200 lbs.

Available at Home Depot ($14.97) and online .

I used it to hang a heavy headboard. Easy to use.

Check out your local hardware store[s] for 'free' pallet boards

In addition to hardware stores, check out Industrial Parks. The company across the street from my work has so many they have them sitting next to the road with a "FREE" sign.

To get the pallet boards secured together giving you a wood back piece for painting art on, you would sand them including the side edges and turn them over where the back side is facing up, then place a board going across each board attaching each to your crossboard. This should be done close to the top and bottom depending on your dimensions and then they all will be attached giving you one piece using several boards to paint art work on. Hope this helped. If you secure your cross board close to the area that you will put your hanging device (the item placed on the back of the art work to hang on the wall) it will make hanging it much simpler. Good luck.

Be sure you can get these pallets free, because many companies reuse their pallets.
