What is the best vine to grow on a trellis for privacy?

My neighbor planted jasmine. It grew pretty fast & smells wonderful

cucumbers...! They grow anywhere, grow fast, have big leaves that grow thick for privacy, and you can eat the fruit. I've done this in a pinch several times and it works great. If you want more leaves and less fruit, grow the small type cucumbers and fertilize the soil a LOT. That will set more leaves and discourage the fruit. This also works well when you need to grow the vine in flower pots or window boxes. If you don't have a trellis, run string up from where you plant and tie the strings to nails at the top. Here in the north, we can't grow year round vines without them dying out over the winter, but you still don't have to cut them down in the fall, and they'll be a quick fix while you get something more permanent established. If you want flowers, morning glories or nasturtiums work well although the cucumbers also have nice yellow flowers. Good luck!

I can tell what not to plant. Don't plant Wisteria, it grows 50 feet. It will eat your house . Trumpet vine is almost just as bad plus it is messy. Not english ivy either.

morning glories are beautiful and change daily, clematis is also excellent, all depends on your zone and location but these both grow quite quickly
