Interesting idea! Would this work in a vegetable garden as well? It must be a similar idea to composting I suppose?

I make my own liquid fertilizer. I keep a milk galln with some water and keep adding my banana peels and crushed egg shells. After it gets full, I use the liquid to fertilize my plants. And mash up the soft banana peels and mix it with my banana plant soil. This plant needs a lot t of potassium so the peels are great.

I put banana peels at the bottom of many plants to see if they improve and they do. Never heard of using it on roses, good to know.
