I have this same problem with peeling kitchen cabinet doors. We live in a damp climate and my aren't really that old. I keep thinking about replacing them with painted wooden doors but there is nothing I could ever do to make them match the actual cabinets. My husband keeps taping the peeling parts down and it drives me nuts! I hope someone has some suggestions!

Looks like MDF. Lightly sand and paint with a good primer, such as Zinser 123 or Kilz. Something that blocks the underneath. Then paint them whatever color you want to.

I have the same problem, but it cannot be fixed, the glue behind the backing no longer holds the vinyl covering in place so it is all bubbled up, We have to buy new doors and match them by swing the sides to match the doors, the edging can be purchased and cut to fit them put on with an iron,

We had to do this in our old house and it stayed put for 25 years.

These types of cupboards only come with a 1 year warranty because this happens with them all,

IN my opinion they should be took off the market.

Is it possible to peel off vinyl sand lightly where wood is bubbling. Also use wood filler or bondo (used at body shops for body work) where necessary then prime and paint? Bondo works better than wood filler and it is easy to apply. Not sure this technique would work for your situation

That is for sure, that is why my spouse made my kitchen cupboards in our old house, the counters too. We bought this place new and the cabinates were supposed to be solid oak but we discovered pretty fast that they were just mDF with vinyl wrap in oak colour, of course they went out of business so we were left with no one to turn to in order to have them replaced. Now we have to do it ourselves.
