    Where is it?

We had a large one growing up our pergola and loved the look of it, unfortunately, it attracted too many birds that messed all over the patio table and chairs so it had to go. My husband cut the thick trunk down at its base but there were many offshoots popping up everywhere ... in the grass and adjacent flower beds. We just constantly kept at it; removing the many shoots as they appeared. After two Summers of constant vigilance and removal, the vine seemed to give up the battle and disappeared.

Elaine, boy, were you lucky! I live in Georgia and they grow wild here and are extremely hard to get rid of. Cutting back, then spraying with round-up plus extreme vigilance in pulling up new shoots, including the roots, is the only way I know of in this area and it is a continuous battle thanks again to our feathered friends.

It is growing on my fence and on one side of my house. I cut it when ever I see it climbing. It spreads extremely fast!
