If you are keeping the hibiscus inside, sit it by a sunny window and be prepared to water well whenever the soil feels dry. I had three of them in my sunny kitchen and found they liked a lot of water. The blooms don't last long but new ones reappear constantly. Be sure to check underneath the leaves for aphids as I found they are prone to that but other than that, they are an easy plant to care for. Again, if it is staying in the house and you have other plants, make sure they are healthy and pest-free as your hibiscus could be contaminated. If you are planting it outside, just Google "hibiscus care for outside in your State" or ask at your local garden centre.

I live in N. CA and wanted a hibiscus (tropical) but even here it gets cold and the instructions were that it needed temp of 65°F so no hibiscus for me. Bummer.

Tropical hibiscus need warm weather year round. Swamp hibiscus can stand some water, like in a rain garden. The standard goes in the ground.
