Do you have somewhere to spray paint? If so, prep the frame with mod podge and TP for texture, paint to match decor, or, cover the frame in clear plastic wrap, color normal white glue with food color or craft paint for darker results, and smudge on the plastic with a foam brush or sponge, seal with clear glue or mod podge when dry.

After preparing the frame for paint, assess it condition. Deep cracks or dents will still show if the frame is stained. If you plan to paint then wood filler will work and be well covered with the paint. You can always add embellishments if you see a need to take it further. Decoupage can add a lot of interest, either at the corners or over the whole thing. Embellish with what you have or can collect affordably so long as it reflects what you like. Example: if you have a passion for the outdoors, collect some pine cones and glue to the frame. Or other natural items that complement the scale of the frame. Stencil autumn leaves or use a faux vine to fill in any blank spaces you want filled.

Il faut mettre de la pâte à bois dans les coins puis recouvrir de peinture à la craie. Ensuite ajouter d'autres couleurs acrylique ou à la craie avec une éponge. Voici le résultat à partir d'un simple vieux cadre.🙇

I have gone to thrift store's and taken the measurements of the mirror size I need so I can match old picture frames for the size I will need and glued it over the mirror after removing the cheap frame and they look great!!

Have you tried peeling the faux metal part off? I would definitely do that before prepping the rest for painting . We did a similar project and if you don't , it will just peel off later . Good luck !

Duct Tape comes in some really interesting colors now. you can try to find some with the color scheme and taste that is in your style or contact paper is also a possibility.

We remodeled our bathroom recently and until I can find the mirrored medicine cabinet I really love and can afford I sanded, mudded, taped and spray painted a second hand one that i liked well enough. It turned out nicely.

  • Lightly sand and use chalk paint then water based poly. Works like a dream. Good luck.
