I have a lamp that's not that old but has a dent...how can I fix it?

A dent. what is it made of? Is it possible to glue a flower or something over it. Stand something in front of the dent. Wrap the base in twine for a different affect.

If it has a "dent" is it metal of some sort? How big is the dent?

I would guess if your lamp is metal you could fill the dent with Bondi used to fill dents in cars, apply, let dry, sand and either paint the patch to match your lamp or paint the entire lamp to hide the patch.

How large is the bottom of the lamp? Is it possible to unscrew the bottom where the wire goes in? If so you can stick a wood dowl or something up the inside and tap the dent out.

Oh the shade I was thinking when you said dent it was on a brass base or something. Did you try to push the dent out. On some shades there is no hope, They are like wrapped onto the frame. Did you think about recovering it? maybe turn it to the back until it can be replaced. I actually found a nice replacement for one of mine at good will of all the luck 2.99 I think I paid. A real bargain for me.
