What Perennials are good in the west location?

Are you meaning a garden that receives western exposure or are you meaning you live in a western state or province?

It is partly shaded in afternoon. Other area gets full afternoon sun.

While I have visited Texas, I know nothing about your gardening zone but if you Google "sun tolerant perennials" AND type in your zone, you'll see lots of info. I live in southern Ontario and we receive hot and humid Summers (about 94F) ... especially the last four years or so! Our garden faced West and all our perennials did well. Again, I don't know your zone, but am certain "Russian Sage" would do very well in your garden as well as "Rose Campion". Russian Sage is a tough, sun-tolerant perennial that grows about 3' high here (like a mini hedge) with a pretty lavender color. I could mention many, many perennials but your zone might just be too hot. Google ... plus a garden centre would certainly assist you. I'm sure a fellow Texan will see your question and respond soon.
