How do you prune crepe myrtles to look like trees?

  • Do you have a photo you can post? It can be done, but carefully. Now is not the time though, I would wait till fall. Or call a licensed arborist for suggestions.

    Crepe Myrtles will get treelike if you do very little pruning. Most people have crepe murders from trying to keep them as little bushes.

    LOL they grow huge in Oregon. The birds like the black fruits. They are prone to insect infestations. I whack mine back yearly. 15'
