If a piece of my raspberry plant breaks off can I root it?

    Normally the healthy branches are very flexible and don't break off, the old canes break easily because they are dead already, they normally die after the year they fruit.

    Don't worry--raspberries will send out underground shoots and you will soon have them everywhere. They can spread quickly once they get established in an area. However, if the branch that broke off has nodes where the leaves are growing from and you lay that on the ground and lightly cover it with some soil, it will start rooting from these nodes.
