Grout that's not too old, needs to be fixed in "spots".

The grout between tiles as well as between tiles and wood edging (door) is " pulling away". Is there a way to fix this - I know that sealer won't work. Material is too different and sealer is smooth.

Had the same situation between tiles & wooden stair. A tiler recommended removing all grout, replacing & then sealing. The wood breathes & moves with pressure or moisture & causes the grout to fracture, so we placed a thin metal edging bet ween wood & tile & grouted in between. It's been a few years & still good.

How old is the grout? It has to be replaced after so many years. But a simple fix it to scrape the broken area and regroup the spot.
