Does anyone have a good way to keep deer out of their gardens?

We live close to two creeks, and the deer use them as their walking trails! I have resigned to only plant flowers and shrubs that the deer don't like, but I would love some variety from time to time!

Deer don't like the smell of Irish Spring. Grate a bar or two (or so) and spread it generously around your garden.

Next time you get a haircut, save the clippings or ask your stylist if you can have a bag of hair. Sprinkle this around and they should stay away.

We tried the hair but the deer in our area are so tame from people feeding them that it didn't work . We tried Irish Spring soap and no more deer! As the first comment states, simply grate the soap and sprinkle around any areas where you want to keep out the deer. I keep some of the grated soap in my freezer so that we always have it on hand.

There's a product called 'Not Tonight Deer.' I've heard it recommended. I remember it because it has a witty name.

We strung up some black mesh on the trees around the lot, and spray a lot of deep repellent and it has really really helped. We also bring home deer resistant plants and leave them out for the deer for a week or so before planting, as we haven't enclosed the entire yard.
