Potted always cheer up a patio and you can get flowering plants cheap now . Be colorful and have fun with it .
Comfy furniture, area rug, fire pit/fireplace. Plants of varying heights and complementary colors.
Coloured patio lanterns, solar lights around the border of your patio, if you have a patio table & chairs already you can put a colourful outdoor mat under the table & add complimenting cushions to the chairs. Prepotted fruit trees or flowers. Also, you could use metal wall hangers to hang potted flowers.
Think of decorating your patio like decorating a room in your house. Seating, tables, decorative lighting, etc. Use an outdoor rug to anchor the space. Then create a seating arrangement. This would also apply to an outdoor dining area. Potted plants and trees can help define the space too. This time of year is great for finding inexpensive patio furniture. I bought mine at Walmart.
