How do I fix the shower handles to stay on the stems?

The part of the stem that the allen screw tightens onto is broken & I cant get the handles to stay on faucet stems.

    Call the manufacturer and they will give you a free handle. Moen is the best, but cry the blues when you call them.

    I just replaced mine. They were surprisingly inexpensive .

    You will have to replace to replace that part.

    That is just a plastic/nylon insert made for the handles to slip over and allen screw to hold the handle on. Remove the screw and the insert just pops out. You can buy replacement inserts at Home Depot, Lowes, or Menards. Make sure you take the handle and insert so they can match it up with what you have. All kinds of configurations and styles for different faucet handles.

    Replace it take it to hardware store and they should be able to match something up for you
