Good question, Pam. I'll be watching your answers, because I've had a similar problem, that being how to adhere brass stampings to surfaces. The problem being in both our cases that the surface we have to attach is very thin. My solution, so far, has been to fill the cavity with air-dry clay to increase the surface. It's worked on my applications, those being attaching stampings, earrings, etc to tassel heads. But I'm sure there's a better way! Thanks for asking for both of us.
